(These are the two fiction books we have been reading lately. Not challenging to the mind necessarily but still enjoyable!!)

First, we would like to update you on the valet trash situation. We had first talked about it as an added luxury to our apartments, but with every luxury comes an expense. Let me remind you that we did not ask for this service. It was given. We received in our door the other day a notification that our trash can had been left outside our door far too long (6 1/2 hours) and that we must call and discuss our negligence with the property manager. Failure to adhere to these regulations would result in a $25 fine. Nothing is free with luxury.

Second, does anyone know how to make gaucamole. We just bought an avocado and we need a recipe! Matt would prefer a recipe that includes lime, which we just remembered we forgot to buy.

Third, Ernesto PLEASE don't take out Destin! We need a vacation in October.

Fourth, Neonatology has come to an end. Matt took his test on Friday and it was fine, except for a question on Borrelia Burgdorferi (lyme disease).

Fifth, we received word yesterday that a couple in Amarillo that has been incredibly helpful to us is going through a tough time. The wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor very close to a major blood vessel. Surgery will likely take place on Tues. morning. They do not know if it is benign or malignant. They mentioned some verses that they have taken comfort in that we also hold dear to us in Dan. 3:17-18 when Shadrach, Meshech, and Abed-Nego said "If it be so our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire and He will deliver us out of your hand O king, but even if He does not, let it be known to you O king that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up." These verses capture the heart of a believer in prayer as these men recognized God's power to do anything, but submitted the outcome to His will.

Sixth, we have a second prayer request. It deals with the Hurleys who are serving in Uganda training pastors and running an orphanage. We recently found out that the dad (Shannon) and his 4 year old son have malaria. We have not heard anything else. Keep these people in your prayers throughout the week. God delights in the prayers of His people.
