Retirement Party

On Sunday we celebrated Kara's retirement by going out to eat at Mark's Restaurant. This is the same place we went for our Anniversary. The restaurant is really unique, as it is set in an old church building. We had a different waiter this time, who was not as snobby (last time our waiter was a piece of work!) and gave us excellent service! Kara ordered
"Summerfield Farm’s Lamb Loin with a Vivid Basil Sauce and a Gratin of White Cheddar Potatoes" (the restuarant's words). For dessert she had warm chocolate with german chocolate icing, and peanut brittle ice cream in fudge sauce. Matt had "Grilled Medallions of Veal over Vidalia Onion Risotto with Asparagus in a Marsala Morel Sauce" and for dessert he had lemon cake with meringue and lemon sorbet with blackberries on the side. The greatest part, is that the meal was paid for by Kara's former job! She won a gift certificate at her office Christmas party, so her retirement dinner, was on Baylor! We really enjoyed eating gourmet food but we were very excited to think that this is only a shadow of what will be on the banquet table in heaven.

Congratulations on the early retirement! Can your nest egg sustain such a long retirement?

Woohooo!! Happy retirement, Kara! Let's celebrate with a trip to New Orleans in July! ;) (No, I didn't win, but I'm gonna keep trying!)

Matt and Kara, we look forward to hearing where the Lord takes you for residency next year and beyond-what a priceless adventure to trust God completely with the unknown future.
