Christmas busyness

We had a pleasant surprise in northern California. It snowed. It did not snow at our house, but we were only 15 minutes away. The next day we took Haddon to his first snow. Here he is smiling and sitting in the snow.

We went and visited a park with a beautiful view of Mt. Diablo. We have hiked on Diablo in the past (interesting story) and have a great view of it driving down the street to the store from our house.
Haddon was able to watch as Kara set up Haddon's first live Christmas tree. I grew up with a fake tree as my mom was allergic to the real ones so this was my first live Christmas tree. So far it is still alive and that reminds me I need to go water it.
Haddon also experienced his first advent calendar counting down the days until Christ's birth.
We have been very busy with Christmas gift buying this year. It is so hard to balance gift giving and just enjoying and reflecting at Christmas time. We also have been involved in house projects. Matt has painted the pantry, the stairs, and the family room wall and fireplace mantle. His break is almost over, but we are enjoying the last few days off together. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!
