Kara and I just returned from Christmas 2008 in the OC. We drove down Christmas Eve morning with one stop at In n' Out on the way. It was our first In n' Out burger in a loooong time. Other than the occasional crazy driver the 400 mile drive was uneventful. We made gingerbread cookies and brought extra dough with us and spent time decorating the cookies Christmas Eve night.

Christmas day we met our niece Brooklynn. Kevin and Danielle came down to visit a couple days. It was fun to play with her and make her laugh.

Kevin brought his Wii with him, and we had a blast trying all of the different games. Lonnie (Kara's dad) turned out to be a great tennis player and beat all of us despite this being his first Wii gaming experience.

We enjoyed watching Brooklynn open up her presents. She started to get the hang of ripping the gift wrapping by the end.

One of the nights in the OC, we went and visited Dan, Katie and David (their baby born on the same day as Brooklynn). It was great to see them and meet David for the first time.

While in the OC, we tried Sprinkles cupcakes. They are a famous chain that makes specialty cupcakes with many varieties. They lived up to their reputation, and we will go back for more next time we are down in SoCal.

At the end of the week, we all were happy and tired. It was a good Christmas with many memories.
Merry Christmas to everyone we did not get an opportunity to see this year!!!
