Fall Festival

Kara and I were in San Antonio a couple weekends ago visiting friends and the dentist. Here are a few pictures from our trip out to a pumpkin patch out in Medina, TX. If you have never heard of Medina, that's alright, it's population is...small. We stopped at a creek on the way back to San Antonio for some pretty pictures. The water was really cold and just down stream from us we saw a dead deer. We figured as long as we stayed upstream we were safe from some any weird dead deer disease.

When we got to Houston we carved a pumpkin for Ken and Beth's pumpkin contest. We lost. This might be old news to some of you, but we haven't updated the blog in a while.

Other big news:
  • Kara's retirement date has been set for January 18th. She is a very happy Kara.
  • Matt has been setting up his interviews for residency. So far, he will be traveling to (in order) Atlanta, Philly, Deleware (will get to see his mom's side of the family), Phoenix, Riverside, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville, back to Los Angeles and Irvine. He doesn't have to go for an interview in Oakland, as the rotation he did there in August is considered his interview. This has been quite complicated organizing flights and times. We are very thankful for all of these interviews.

We went to B.J.'s in Sugarland (about 20 minutes away) to watch the Patriot's/Colt's game on Sunday. We were unable to get a table, so we watched the whole second half standing up. We were cheering for the Colts, along with about 1/2 the restaurant. We have never watched a game with the cheering split 50/50, but it was fun. Our team lost, but it was fun.

The Spurs are 4:1, and I (Matt) don't want to talk about the one loss.

I actually have heard of Medina, TX. Can't remember why, though. :-P

How long will you be in Philly and Delaware? We're like an hour and a half from each. :-D Perhaps a little meet-up if you can spare time?
